Nayonnaise

“Mayo-nize your burger!”, my mayonnaise jar admonishes me.

No.

  • Is it the ear-tickling slogan you take issue with or the burger itself? Incidentally, out of curiosity, what do vegetarians use mayonnaise for anyway? On a side note, my mayonnaise jar is trying to convince me that it is “GourMayo”!?

  • Upon further investigation of my fridge, I found a jar of Miracle Whip (which is arguably the same thing as mayonnaise) that encourages me to “Create Burger Envy” and to “Put Some Fun On That Bun.” As if that were not enough, the jar also asks that I “Not Get Caught With Bare Buns”! In general, I’m insulted, but I do believe the latter warning is reasonable.

  • Many of us vegetarians eat things like veggie burgers or “Chick” patties. (heeeee… see, it’s like “chick peas” not “chicken”. hmmmm.)

I think what we’ve got on our hands (err, buns) is a White Creamy Condiment Sales Slogan Arms Race. The only sensible policy is complete disarmament.

    Whatever, I just know it’s Cool 2B Real™.

  • I would like to offer my staunch opposition to the grouping of mayonaise and miracle whip as the same thing. They are not. Miracle Whip has an extra “twang” that I detest. The taste is very similar to what I conjecture rotten mayonaise tastes like.

  • I think it’s terrible that your condiment containers are “saying” and “telling” you things. Disturbing. Maybe?

PS: NOW, If we’re talking Ketchup bottles then some Dallas girls and I could amuse you with some pretty interesting stories…
