…then a white van drives by…
A joke. Funny only to audio geeks. And even then, only maybe.
Paul Klipsch is walking down the street and sees Amar Bose. Mr. Klipsch puts his hands to his mouth in a horn shape and yells to him, “Hello, Amar!”.
Amar turns away, cups his hands together a few inches and slightly angled away from his mouth, and yells back, “Hello, Paul!”.
Thank you for your time.

I get it.
Klipsch uses horn drivers, so Mr. Klipsch tries to imitate such a thing when greeting.
Bose uses directional placement of their drivers, so Mr. Bose tries to imitate that when replying back.

Congratulations, you win.
(For posterity and my own reputation’s sake, I should note that I wasn’t the originator of this joke.)
