New wordparts design

So the new design is up.

There are still a lot of things that need to be fixed, gaps here and there, and much code ugliness, but I think it’s at a point that it’s “better enough” than the old way even with its failings.

Any problems? Anything look weird? Suggestions, comments, criticism?

More soon.

  • questions:
why not also show a recent post headline or two in the title screen?

    comments:
more cowbell. oh, and as always the logo and color scheme rock.

ps. I thought bloggers weren’t allowed to use copyrights anymore - isn’t everything supposed to be under the creative commons ’some rights reserved’ from now on :)

  • Sorry, forgot to reply to these.

First, thanks. I’m glad you like it. (And if anybody doesn’t, please tell me why — I’m interested!)

Adam: I thought about doing a recent post headline but decided against it because I’m concerned about the already large header and also because almost everyone should have at least the headline of the most recent posting “above the fold”, as it were. More cowbell, however, is definitely on the menu.

  • gotcha…unfortunately, i’ve found that most internet cafes have a 800×600 default setting - and I’ve gotten tired of re-adjusting everything (screen size, toolbars, browswer, etc…) whenever I log on :)
