Flickr dumping Flash

Looks like Flickr is dumping Flash for standard Web technologies. This has always been my #1 complaint with Flickr — what’s the point of waiting for Flash Player to load just to show me a too-small-to-really-see-well image? Watching those red and blue orbs circle around each other while Flash Player attempts to pull an image down from the server is boring enough to make me close my browser half the time.

Good people of Flickr: while you’re at it, please make your page background darker. Most photos don’t look good on a sea of white because it’s hard to see shadow detail.
